The Six Blades of Kojiro stands as one of the most mechanically demanding and atmospheric Mythic Tales within Ghost of Tsushima. To achieve full completion and claim the legendary rewards, players must hunt down five dangerous Straw Hat assassins scattered across the gorgeous yet deadly Toyotama region before earning the right to face their ultimate leader. Successfully completing this journey not only tests your mastery of defensive swordplay but also grants access to some of the most iconic armor upgrades in the entire game.
Initiating the Hunt in Toyotama
To begin this multi-stage legendary quest, you must first reach Act 2 of Jin Sakai journey and gain access to the southern territories of the second region. Travel directly to the sheltered village of Umugi Cove and seek out the musician Yamato resting near the back deck of the main tavern. Speaking with him initiates the quest line and marks the locations of five highly skilled assassins directly on your map.
Before heading out into the fog, players should ensure their combat techniques are fully upgraded to survive the brutal gauntlet ahead. Each duel represents a strict test of your ability to read unblockable attacks and execute perfect parries. Having a full meter of resolve will give you the necessary edge to heal or execute special strikes during these intense encounters.Tracking the Five Scattered Straw Hats
The journey requires players to navigate through distinct open-world environments across the regional map, ranging from hidden coastal shores to vibrant flower fields. One elusive combatant stands waiting amidst the damp environment of the Drowning Marsh, which tests your movement speed against aggressive standard strikes. Another dangerous opponent named Hirotsune can be located at the northern side of the Field of the Equinox Flower, surrounded by dramatic spider lilies.
The remaining three swordsmen are positioned near various natural landmarks across Toyotama that demand careful exploration of remote areas. You will fight Kiyochika under a rushing waterfall along the Musashi Coast, Tomotsugu on the isolated shore below Cloud Ridge Shrine, and Kanetomo east of Yamabushi Peak. Defeating every single one of these elite combatants is absolutely mandatory before the final phase of the quest can unlock.Confronting the Master at Omi Monastery
Once all five initial Straw Hats have been soundly defeated in battle, you must return to Umugi Cove to speak with Yamato once again. The musician will reveal that the legendary Kojiro himself is waiting for a final showdown in a nearby sacred cave. Your ultimate destination is the Omi Monastery, situated in the far northwestern section of the Toyotama territory.
Follow the guiding wind past the large red tree near the waterfalls to locate the hidden entrance to the Mirror of Sacred Light. Inside this atmospheric arena, Kojiro will challenge you to the final and most difficult duel of the entire side quest. He is incredibly aggressive, meaning you must rely heavily on dodging unblockable attacks and executing swift counterattacks to survive.
Claiming the Ultimate Legendary Rewards
Overcoming the final master rewards players with the highly coveted Kensei Armor along with the matching Kensei Headband. This legendary gear set significantly increases your overall resolve gains and drastically enhances the damage dealt by your Ghost weapons. Successfully completing this arduous tracking journey cements Jin Sakai status as a legendary warrior of Tsushima.
